The meeting was addressed by Mr. W. Goodfellow, general manager, Mr. Claude Motion, managing director, Mr. C. 'H. Lupton, chairman or the Manurewa Town Board, and others. The public school has been considerably o+ercrowded for some years, and has consistently pressed Its claims for a new infant school, that tne board hare now advised the committee that the Department has made a grant for the edcctlon (In brick) of two class rooms. The architect ii-aa been Instructed to arrange for the worK, which is to be undertaken as early as possible. : l'lnns for a new post office (in. brick) on the corner of the Great iSouth Koad and Station Road have been approved by the Manurewa Town Board, and the erection of thin building cannot be muck further delayed. ' The Town Board has decided on obtaining a £10,000 loan for read construction and recreation reserves, has obtained Government enaction, and has further been advised that the State Advances Board has granted the board's application for the loau of £8000 for the reconstruction of roads and footpaths In the town district.
There is probably no south suburban township between the city and Tukekbhe tout has made more recent progress than ilauurewa.
