CEREMONY IN ROME.

ROME, May 24.

The beatification of Oliver Plunkett, an Archbishop of Armagh, who was executed at Tyburn in 1681, was carried out with .impressive ceremony at St. Peter's. Many Irish, English, American, and Australian church- dignitaries participated in the pageant, including Cardinal Logue, the present Archbishop of Armagh, and Dr. Kelly, Archbishop of Sydney. —(A. and NX Cable.)

It is reported that Archbishop Stanley doyen of the English-speaking prelates it Rome, was invited to celebrate mass at the beatification of Oliver Plunkett, bui the Irish bishops remonstrated againsi the choice of an Englishman, and at Italian was selected.
