This game was strenuously contested, ' and the defence of both sides was severely j tested throughout the first spell, which ' ended with no score by either side. North Shore 0. j The V.'M.C.A. defence was sound. Brnlt.h- ! wnlte and Walbrnn playing very heady ■games. The forwards were very nippy, and i kept the Shore backs on the run all the l time. Pitkin proved a tower of strength to the V.M.C.A. forwards. L. Dacre, at rlcht 'back was very sure for Shore, while Cook, nt centre-half, played a good hnrd game. It was the hardest game played on tlie Shore for some time. Mr. Harry Lockwood refereed.
