MINISTER OF EDUCATION.

The Minister of Education (Hon. C. J. Parr) has gone very thoroughly info the needs of Auckland in regard to education during the past three days, and made himself thoroughly acquainted with every application that is likely to come before the Department for some time. The presence of "the Director of Education (Dr. J. W. - Anderson) . has also cleared up some matters on which some of the Auckland controlling-bodies considered they had a grievance. There is no doubt the visit of the Minister has cleared the ground for an excellent start under his regime, which promises, to be energetic and not too much hampered with red-tape. This morning the Minister visited some of the sites of new buildings that have been referred to in the many deputations that have waited upon him.' ' - ■ ■• '

The Minister will leave by the Main Trunk to-morrow night,, his . first stop being at Marton, and thence he goes to Wanganui and Taranaki districts.
