PRINCE AND THE CHILDREN.
SENDS AUTOGRAPHIC LETTER. WILL BE READ IN EVERY SCHOOL. "There can be no question that of all ceremonies that attended the Visit of the Prince of Wales to the Dominion, nothing touched our future King more than the spectacle of tens of thousands of fine, healthy, enthusiastic children. He informed mc to that effect himself." Thus the Hon. C. J. Parr, Minister of Education, this morning, when giving information of a pleasing act of thoughtfulnesa on the part of hia Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. The Minister said he had just received from H.R.H. a letter to the boys and girls of New Zealand. It was in the Prince's own handwriting, and took the shape of a feeling farewell to the young people who were so enthusiastic in giving him a welcome to the Dominion. The Education Department, proposes to publish the message in the "School Journal" for June, and in the July number a photographic reproduction of the letter would be given. ' As the "Journal" reached every school child the Prince'B farewell words would be widely read by the young people Moreover, the Minister of Education has instructed the letter to be read.simultaneously in all schools In the Dominion at 10 a.m. on Monday week, or, if the schools be still closed on account of the influenza, then at the same hour on the first day they are reopened.
