Following is the official weather fore- | cast for 24 hours from !) a.m. this day:— The indications are for southerly winds, strong to gale at times. The weather will probably prove cold and showery. j The ni?ht will probably he very cold. Barometer rising; sea moderate; tides good. Postal notes are freely circulated, and naturally, at times lost. For the con- j venience of the public, duplicate notes are issued where proof has been given that the originals have been lost. In such cases, the signature is required of the receiver of the duplicate note, to a declaration that in the event of the original one being produced the sum will be refunded. Such a case was set down for hearing at the Magistrate's Court to-day, as the receiver of the duplicate note refused to pay 10/ when I the original one was presented. The ; Crown Prosecutor's office was instructed by the Postmaster-Geenral to take action, T>ut just prior to the opening of the Court the ten shillings was paid in with -costi.
