HARDWORKED BOOTMAKER.
(To the Editor.) fir,— T noticed a letter in your issue! of April 23rd, sipicd as above. With ;s | your kind permission, 1 will relate nm a experience I had lately, and leave the j,. public to jnclpe. T required a pair of|\ boots half-doled with grcenhidc. On in- , a quiring the cost of came from threej t , different bootmakers within a. «hort dis-j B tunco of where I reside. I woe asked t 7/(i, 8/, nnd S'fl. Thinking the charge I t wne too exorbitant, 1 purchased a pair v of soles ready cut. with brass rivets for „ same for 8/9. About half an hour's work t did the job, leaving 3/9 to 4/0 to the v pood. Another point. I had to pay the h retail price for the leather. Shop rents c . are low in tins district, and thn work n in ail three places waa done, on the! n premises. To conclude, can H.W.B. tell j t mc how much ink antl heel-bull, etc., lie in uses per pair of boots repairer!? I should t say about half a farthiner'-f worth. —lit am, etc., ANTL-PROFITEKR. v
