Auckland had a busy month in April, the returns showing an all-round increase on the corresponding figures for April of last year, and also for the four-monthly period from the beginning of the year. Of the 177 marriages last month , *41 were celebrated at the oiiice of the registrar, bring "lie less than in April, 1010. but the'total tif civil marriages for the four months this year is 169, a3 against 1211 for the corresponding ifour months of 1919.
