PERSONAL.
Mr. J. G. Garland, late acting-secretary of the branch of the V.M.C.A. at Auckland, has resigned, and leaves shortly for Christchureh. Mr. A. P. Bennett, Health Inspector at Hamilton, has been promoted to a senior sanitary inspector under the Health Department as from May Ist. Mr. Robertson retires from the Public Service Comroissionership to-day and Mr. Morris assumes the duties of the office to-morrow. — (I'ress Association.) Mi;. D. Clark, of Auckland, has left by the Maheno for Sydney, also Mr. J. Varney, of Hamilton, in connection with the visit of the team of bowlers to Australia. The Rev. E. L. Harvie, vicar of St. Andrew's, Epsom, leaves shortly for Australia, accompanied by his wife. Ho has been granted three months' leave of absence on the report of hie medical adviser. Captain E. H. Roche, M.C., of the Royal Garrison Artillery, is due to arrive" on the Remuera to-raorro-w. He is now paying a visit to his parents, Mr. and }Irs. H. Roche, of Cambridge, AVaikato, and intends to return to England in time for the winter session. Mr. J. G. Garland, office secretary to tho Auckland V.M.C.A.. and lately acting-seneral secretary until the arrival of Mr. A. S. Wilson, has resigned his position, and proceeds to Christchurch in the course of a few weeks, where he is entering into business on his own account.
