BRIDGE OVER WAIHOU.

LOAN PROPOSAL CARRIED. (By Teleirraph.—Own Correcsponcleii't.) THAMES, this day. The County Council yesterday submitted a proposal to borrow £20,000 over a special rating area for the erection of a, bridge across the Waihou River at Puriri. The bridge will cost iv the vicinity of £27,000. The amount above the loan represents Bubsidy. Voting on the proposal was: For 94, against S3 —a majority of 7 or 8 above the legal threefifths. The bridge will have an opening span and allow free navigation of tinriver, and it is hoped to be the first of several bridges spanning the Waihou River between Thames and Hatiraki Plains.
