THE NEW SILVER COINS.
NO CHANGE IN APPEARANCE. NICKEL ISSUE QUESTION. (Received 12.30 p.m.). LOXDOX, February 16. The new alloyed shillings and sixpences to be circulated in March exactly resemble the old coins- The latter have been gradually withdrawn from circulation and returned to the mint for conversion. The Treasury has not yet decided the question of nickel coinage, but it is stated that it is ready for rapid isEue if necessary.— (United Service).
