THE ISLAND TRIP.

STARTS ON MONDAY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Parliamentary party will not sail for Samoa on Saturday, as originally intended. Those making the trip were notified to-day that, owing to delay caused in Dunedin by influenza and Carnival week, the Mokoia cannot reach Wellington before Sunday. The vessel will leave on Mondaj- afternoon.

The following members of Parliament will join the Mokoia at Wellington:—

Other passengers include Colonel W. Tate (the Civil Administrator of Samoa) and Mr. F. W. Platts (Resident Commissioner at Rarotonga). Mr. A. Gibbs, assistant electrical engineer to the Post and Telegraph Department, who is to inspect the wireless stations and report upon proposed new stations required to complete the chain of wireless communication between the Dominion and the Islands; Mr. P. B_ck, who is to report upon tropical agriculture in the Islands; Mr. W. W. Bird, inspector for the Hawke's Bay Education Board, who will report upon the present system of education at the Cook Islands and Samoa, and make suggestions for a future policy: and Mr. H. Vickerman, of the Public Works Department, who is to advise as to a comprehensive public works scheme.
