FALL FROM BALCONY.

VISITING SWIMMER INJURED. An untoward happening befel Mr. Douglas Davidson, a, member of the Canterbury contingent of swimmers, at the Mansions boardinghouse last night, and resulted in his removal to the hospital in a critical condition. After dinner Mr. Davidson retired to the balcony on the Beiond floor of the annexe, and was aitting on the balustrade chatting with friends. Suddenly he overbalanced and fell backwards into the garden beneath a distance of about 30ft. Medical assistance was immediately sought, and the unfortunate man was removed to the hospital. Examination revealed that no oones were broken, but his condition was critical, no change having taken place this morning.
