PUKEKOHE LOAN PROPOSALS.
£84,000 REQUIRED. ' After much delay, the Borough of Pukekohe is at last coming into line with other local bodies, the Couwil having decided to go to the ratepayers with a proposal to borrow £84,000 to be distributed for works as follows: —Roads improvement and plant, engineering fees and contingencies, £20,000; town hall, £6,000; municipal baths. £600; extension of water service, £9,500; extension of electric lighting service, including new plant,, £26,800; quarry and plant, £2,000; fire brigade equipment, £1,000; drainage system, £17,000. The first year's interest, estimated at £900, brings the total to £84,000.
