The final matches In Hie first round of the district club championships were coneluded on Saturday in line weather. At Eden Park the University eleven failed to Rt't anywhere near the total of 492 made by Ponsonby ill their first innings, being disused of by 5 p.m- for 207, giving Ponsonby a two-point win. At Remiicra, Eden declared with, six wickets down for HSfl runs, und disposed of Parnell in their first innings for 110 runs, and in their second lor lf.C, llius getting a three-point win by an innings and 133 runs. Nortii Shore sprang a surprise by carrying their innings to 374 for nine wickets, in reply to Grafton's first innings of 2n:i, and by then dismissing Grafton in less than an hour for 54, getting the win by an innings and 67 runs.
