SLY-GROG CHARGE.
XO PROOF OF OWXERSHIP. (By Telegraph.-Special to "Star.") TE AWAMUTU, this day. Hγ. Burton, S.M., heard a charge of sly-grog selling here to-day, involving a large amount of liquor. Thomas Tuohy, of Taumarunui, w,as charged with keeping liquor for sale in a no-license area. It was stated that accused boarded the Main Trunk train bound northward at Taumarunui and attempted to remove two dress baskets. He -was seen by a constable, and hurriedly left the train. The packages were found to contain 24 bottles of whisky. Mr. Allan Moody appeared for defendant.
