(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.? , THAMES, thie daji Aβ recent Ministers of Mines 'have beeil men with practically no knowledge o| the mining industry, a movement ihas been started in the Hauraki mining die* trict to urge the claims of Mr. Rhodes', M.P. for Thames. The Coromandel CountjJ Council passed a resolution asking Mr< Masaey to appoint 'Mr. Rhodes, Ministei of Mines. Branches of the Union in the Thames Valley followed sort, last nig-bt the .Mayor told the Borongh Council that no man on the Government side of the House had the knowledge of mining law and mimng xequiremnts possessed by Mr. Rhodes. He moved a resohrtkm thai fcii*» claims oJ this district and 'tis member for inclusion in the Cabinet be laid before tha Premier. This was unanimously carried. It was' decided to seek tie co-opera±iaij of other local bodies in the peninsula^
