The recent holiday season is recognised as something in the nature of a record for the volume of visitors to the city, and the proprietors of the various accommodation houses had their limited , epace taxed to the utmost. Tie holiday malkers were glad to get in anywhere and put trp wrtfa the Httle inconveniences that a rush of this nature entails. Many, , however, were astounded, when their • weekly account was presented, and it i» ! ■ evident that the custom of making the '. j casuals pay excessive rates has been rigidly adhered to this season.
