SEQUEL TO QUEEN STREET CHASE.
■ .' - TOLICE TAKE HAND. Ther was a sequel to a recent chase i& Queen Street, and some of its tributaries, when Detective Lambert yesterday arrested a man named George Edward Wheeler, who was wanted on certain charges of having forged and uttered cheques. It will be remembered that in the last week in December » salesman of a clothing store recognised in the street a man who had previously called at the store, bought a suit of clothes, and got several pounds change on what afterwards proved to be a valueless cheque. The salesman shadowed his man, and when the latter at length made a bolt for liberty the salesman raised a hue and cry, but the alleged passer of the cheque that was no good managed to make -his escape. It is understood that Wheeler, the young man who was arrested by Detective Lambert, will have to answeo a charge in connection with this cheque that was passed at the clothing store.
