LONDON, December 14.
The "Journal of Commerce," commenting on the freight markets, says that boats are wanted in Australia 'to load grain at 10.V a ton, but the owners are reluctant to use the steamers for this trade owing to the rate being insufficient to pay working expenses. There would be a sharp rise in Australian freights if all British shipping were freed from control.—(A. and ifr.Z. cable )
