EMPIRE PRESS CONGRESS.
AT OTTAWA IN JULY.

The Council of the Empire Press Union has sent invitations on behalf of the Canadian Government and Canadian Press to the Ottawa conference in the first week of August. Sixty British delegates and 40 from the outer Empire are being invited apart from Canada. The Commonwealth will be asked to send 14 and New Zealand seven. The chairman of the committee of each branch will select the names. The British delegates will arrive at Halifax in the last week in July- Canada has offered to pay all expenses, but the British delegates have declined to accept the sea passage money. The remote delegations are left to act similarly if they prefer it. Women may attend as delegates, but no special provision has been made for delegates' wives. "Many good names will be submitted from Britain, where the conference is attracting much Press attention.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
