HENDERSON MUSICAL SOCIETY
The second concert of the Henderson •Musical Society was given on Friday in the Henderson Public Hall to a very large a:..i appreciative audience. The Society's •-onrriiintions were: '"Comrades in Arms" (Ado'iph Adamsi, "The Carnivale" fri. Temple). "In This Hoar of Softened Splendrwir" iPlnsuti.), "-The Long Day Closes" rSnJlrraait. an.] "To the Dead" (Wheeler). i a ail of which the singers excelled themselves, cart-ful phrasing. clear enunciation, and expression being features of rheir performance. Mr. Xorris (tenor). and Miss Webb (soprano) were the soloists of The evening, boih receiving -well deserved encores for their songs. Mrs. Hutchinson and Mr. Carer sun? as a duet "The Venetian Song." and later wirh Miss Carey and Mr. Hntc-hinson the quartet "Dixie." * This was an excellent item, and the quartet responded with "Allan Warer." Miss Shepherd was encored for her recitation. "A Dog in Church." and Mesrrs. Abel and Wood heard to advantage in "The
