Taylor's good Blue chequer cock Bravehenr t. accomplished Ihe distance In the fast time of Hhrs 25-nln, : an average velocity of 1603 yds per minute,! approximately r>s miles per hour. The same! owner's well-known blue hen Gambler's! Gold was second, arriving four minutes later than the winner, and beating the third bird, Mr. V. Ryder's Sky Pilot, by some 30 minutes. j l.raveheart was third in the hard Te Kuiti race earlier in the season, when few birds homed on the day of liberation, so it is fair to assume that, although no other owner in the club was home from business in time to see his birds arrive on Snturda.. owing to their arrival In Auckland at 11.40 a.m., Bravelieart's velocity nevertheless represents that of the leading birds In the race. Gambler's Gold as a young bird won the Iluntly race, nnd flew also third from Te Kuiti, and as a yearling has tlown eighth Te Kuiti and tenth Tauniarunul, so her performance on Saturday was no fluke. Ohnkune appears to suit Sky Pilot as 11. race point, for the red cock won the race j from that point some weeks ago In the satisfactory time of -Hirs 2Smin. The Auckland Flying Club's time from . Paekakariki was a record from that point, the velocity being just under 1300 yds per minute. This club, however, will probably declare the race void since the majority of the members did not arrive home until a considerable time after their birds, and were thus unable to compete. The Northern Club fly their yearling • championship race from Palmerston on Saturday, and the contest promises to be a ' keen one for championship honours with, the younesters. Kntries close at G p.m. on Friday evening at the clubroom. King's: Chambers. * !
