FOUNTAIN OF FRIENDSHIP LODGE.
I The Fountain of Friendship 'Dodge ten. ' dered last night a welcome home social to members recently returned from active service. The .odgeroom was tastefully decorated for the occasion, and there was a large attendance of members. The N.G., Brother R. G. Newbegin, was in the chair, and among, the 'members present were the Hon. A. 'Myers and Mr. A. ___ Glover. In his opening remarks the N.-G. referred to the fact that one hundred members had gone on active service, and ten had made the supreme sacrifice. The N.G. welcomed the returned members, and the toast of "The •Returned Members" was entrusted to PP G M Brother B. Leydon. He referred in eulogistic terms to the services the members bad rendered Bang and Country, and how proud the Lodge felt of the great percentage of members who had volunteered. lor sen-Ice. Both Brothers Hon. A. Myers md A. ■__ Glover spoke, and their remarks were of a particularly interesting nature. P G 's __ E. .Madden and W. J. Geard reloaded to the toast, and briefly outlined iheir experiences abroad. There was a programme that included tihe toast !of "The King," and ".Returned Members," while the musical items were contributed by ___-_■_-- Pearce. Brekerton. S. Mills, Heaver, W e ..tariln barter. Reeves, C. Strong. Hill «nd J -Calvert. A word of praise is due the 'social"com-n-ittee, P.P.D.G.M. Brother H A. Te Hotrx (master of ceremonies), Brothers Stoney, Battersby, Martin, and Secretary C Westphal, for the excellent arrangements tliat contributed to the most successful function the Lodge has held.
