Y.W.C.A. CONVENTION.

The morning session of tho Y.W.C.A. National Convention was opened yesterday by a short devotional time teken by Miss F. Birch, general secretary of Wellington Y.W.C.A.. taking as her theme '•The Glorious Liberty of the Children of God." Discussion took place regarding suggestions for very different policies of work to those used in past times. The •most important resolution passed made provision for the opening of clubs and ' social- centres outside o£ association i membership. j The luncheon was given the delegates !by the ladies of the Baptist Church of j Auckland. I The evening opened with a short busiI ness session dealing with the recommendations for a national publication, the extension of hostels and clubs in country towns where possible, and community j w oris. j The report of the credential committee showed the following: That there i were present at convention 54 voting I delegates, nine visiting delegates, and - one special visitor, denominations being represented as follows: 20 Presbyterian, ilO Anglican, 10 Methodists, nine Con- . Miss Snelson's closing thought to convention was expressed in the words, that God has an increased supply of revelation for this great increase of opportunity in serving the girlhood and womanhood of our country.
