"Skibbo" considers the painting of the hute put up by the Public Works Department for consumptives in connection with the Domain Annexe bo unsatisfactory that it should be the subject of a Departmental inquiry. H. H. Evan a complans that he has failed to move the Chamber of Commerce or the Government to make an inquiry into an allegation of the appointI ment of a British, manager in a local industrial concern to permit of the continuance of an Austrian who should have .been interned.
"One Interested" complains that while Government insists on youthful employees attending cadet parades irrespective of inconvenience to employers, Government servants are ■exempted. Mr. G. R. Hart writes: "You must admit that the principles of Reform and .Liberalism are substantially the came when compared with the political and revolutionary creed preached 'by the Labour extremists; they both, etand for constitutional government, which is far preferable to a. "dictatorsh.ip by the proletariat," with a collection of fanatics in control. Should the New Zealand liabour party succeed in grasping any new seats under "fiheir screen of political camouflage—on a minority vote—they will have to thank the 'party' system."
