LECTURE ROOM NEEDED. AT EUAKUKA FARM. A meeting of the Auckland Board or ■Education was held j"esterday afternoon. There were present: Mr. K. C. Banks (presiding!, Mrs. P. E. Baume, Dr. J. S. Kalaugher, supervisor of the 'manual and technical branch, reported lv reference to the Ruakura Farm of Instruction, as follows: 'There id an urgent need for a lecture and demonstration room at Kuakura, and after consultation with Mr. A. W. {Jreen, manager of iiuakura, I wish 'to lay before the board the following proposals: (a) That it Iα desirable to have erected a lecture hall to accommodate 100 persons, the building to be according to design submitted by the supervisor. Estimated "cost of building, £1500; estimated cost of furniture, £1M: Total estimated cost, fIOJO. (l>) That the Agriculture Depai£meht,-..the Education' Department, the Auckland KftufaHoa Boaifl; the Repatriation Board, and possibly the Auckland Technical College Board, the Hamilton High School Board, and the New Zealand Farmers" Union should bear the cost. 1 recommend that The Director of Agriculture and the Director of Education l>e written to, urging that steps he taken at once to erect the building, and that the Education Board makes a grant not exceeding ±350 towards the cost."
