THE SPRING MEETING. COXCLTEDINTG DAT. The concluding day's racing of the Takapuna Jockey Club's spring meeting took place at the North. Shore this afternoon. The weather was fine, and' for an. off day the attendance was large. Besults:— The weather was showery. .STANLEY HANDICAP H-ÜBDIiES of 200sovs. A mile and a half. Mr. W. <B. Giesen's oik g Battletide, aged, by St. I'aul—Ebb Tide, 10.0 (Warner) 1 Mr. P. Johnston's b g Te Toa. 6yrs, 9.0 (Copestake) 2 Mr. C. Machell's b g Notability, syrs, 10.8 (Burt) 3 Also started: .Happy Valley 0.2, Totara Jack 9.0, Slowcoach 0.0, Walkura 9.0, Camplire Jack 9.0, -Lady Elstow 0.0. When they were let go Happy VaUcy iwes quickest to more, followed by Te Toa, Totara Jack and Campfire Jack, and these comprised the leading division at the first fence, where Slowcoach left his rider. Passing the stand Happy Valley was just in front of Battletide, and then in order came Te Toa, Totara Jack, Campflre Jack, Walkura and Notability with Xiady Elstow last. Battletide went to the front after jumping the hurdle by the seven furlong post, and with Te Toa as his nearest attendant the pair drew away from the field, Battletide outstaying his opponent and winning at the finish by two and a half lengths. Notability was third, six lengths away, and then came Totara Jack,.Campfire Jack, Wallrura, and .Happy Valley, with Lady Elatow last. Time, 2.40. Notability was favourite. Stilts being quickest to begin, and joined by Mill o' Gowrie the pair made the running along the back, followed by Rock--Ueld, Slnionides, 'HoaChermoon, and Taiamai, with Can'owindra heading; the others. Crossing the top Simonides ran through and was first to the home turn from Stilts, Mill o' Gowrie and Rockfield, ■while the rest of Uie field closed up. In the run home ißockfleld, Heathermoon, and Crowhurst challenged, but could not get -up, Simonides winning by ithree-quarters of a length from ttoekfield, which was a neck in front of Heathermoon. Crowhnrst was fourth, and then came Taiamai, Stilts, and Canowindra, frith Hlneamara last. Time, 1.15. Simondies was favourite. After passing the post Simonides charged at the saddling paddock fence, Gray just checking him in time. VAUXBALL HANDICAP of 200sovs. Five furlongs. Mr. W. A. There was some time lost at the post, but they were let go to a fairly good start, tfrom were firat to move, 'but Petty Ethel soon raced to the front leading across the top from No Mistake, Winning Shot, Scrap o , .Paper, Waikorea, . Generalissimo, iMiss Ellice, Miss Leslie and Oak Abbey, with Salvaless head of the others, Gold Plane and 'Forward Lady falling. These Ttosiaons were maintained as they approached the home turn, where the back division closed up. Petty Ethel, Scrap o" Paper. No Mistake and Generalissimo were just in front of a close bunched lot as they entered the straight. In the run to the jndge a great finish Tesnlted, Scra-p o' Paper stalling off a ■strong challenge by Salvaless, and winning by a neck. Generalissimo was third a neck «way, and then came Petty Ethel. No Mistake, Miss Ellice, Fickop and Formalin, with Kip Kop last. Time 1.3 1-5. Generalissimo was favourite. ST. ANDREW'S HANDlCAip';of..soosovs. A mile and a furlong. ' _ Mr. W. K.
