OFFICE BOY'S ARREST.
ABOUT £300 INVOLVED. I A lad of fifteen was arrested by Detec-tive-Sergt. Hammond on a charge of having stolen a small amount of -money belonging to the Farmers' Union Trading Company, by which firm he was employed in office work. When he came before Mr. J. W. Poyton, S.M., this morn- ! ing he was remanded for a week. Detec-tive-Sergt. Hammond remarked that the lad's parents were in the country, and that thefts from registered letters of amounts totalling something over £300 was involved. In the meantime the ac- ' cused lad will be kept in custody outside ithe prison. When arrested the accused j had over £40 in cash on him.
