ST. JOHN AMBULANCE.
RECOGNITION OF GOOD WORK. At a meeting of the Grand Priory of the Order of St. John Ambulance, held in London, it was resolved: "That the special thanks of His Royal Highness, the Grand Prior, and the ChapterGeneral, be conve3'ed to Mrs. Louisa Smith and other war-workers in the City of Auckland for distinguished services rendered in furtherance of the work. of .the Order in connection with assisting the sick and wounded." Mrs. Louisa Smith, of Park Road, as Lady Corps Superintendent of St. John Ambulance Brigade at Auckland centre, has received a copy of this resolution engrossed on vellum and signed by the Duke of Connaught, Grand Prior. This document ie a fine bit of artistic work. The device of the Order is embossed upon it in gold and white lettering, the text' of the resolution 'being done also in gold.
