MOTOR LORRY BURNED.
■ The Central Fire Brigade received c call at 7.15 p.m. yesterday to Wellesle. Street East. The lire proved to be ir an iron shed owned by Messrs. Bagnal Brothers, Ltd., and was occupied by Mr Alfred Lucas as a marine store. The motor lorry used for collecting bottles etc., was also stored in this building The cause of the fire was an explosion following upon the striking of a match by Mr. Lucas when he entered the store The lorry was immediately enveloped in flames, and Mr. Lucas got his hands burned while ineffectually trying to subdue tho fire. The brigade arrived early on the scene, but the building was gutted and tbe motor lorry destroyed. The stock was valued about £70, and covered by an insurance of £50. Mr. Lucas valued his lorry at £'340, and had it covered by a policy in the Royal Insurance Co. for £200.
