ROUGH ON THE DUCKS.
Two small boys wore before the Juvenile Court this morning as a result of their having killed three ducks and wounding two others. The youngsters had got possession of an old shot gun, described by the senior-sergeant as being '"just as likely to kill at one end as the other," and with this deadly instrument went Oil a big-game shooting expedition There were various casualties anion" thrushes and larks, and sundry other inoffensive creatures. Coming home, thr boys crossed a neighbour's paddock and encountered some ducks of the mild ami well-mannered domestic sort. The obvious thing, of course, was to shoot them Tbe blissfully unsuspecting ducks were attacked before they had time to arrangi a defence, the casualties totalling three dead and two wounded. One of the boys started out to take one of the birds home but on the way got conscience-stricker and abandoned it by tho wayside. Tin parents of the boys were warned not tt allow their children to carry fire-arms and as all expenses in the case bad beei paid, the young adventurers wen admonished and discharged. I _
