OBITUARY.
TWO OLD BLENHEIM RESIDENTS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, this day. Two old citizens of Blenheim died last night. Mr. Thomas Horton came to the j Dominion in 1860, opened and managed I several branches of the Xew South Wales Bank on the Otago goldfields, and also opened the first bank in Fiji. j While there he was a member of the Legislative Council, and held oflice as Colonial Treasurer. He returned to the Dominion in 1370, was treasurer of the Westland Provincial Council for three years, and Mayor of Blenheim from 181)4 to 1897. He was several times a councillor, and was engaged in business in Blenheim up to the time of his death. Mr. Stewart Clouston, who died after an operation, was manager in Blenheim for the Levin Company since 1897, and was previously a traveller in Nelson, Marlborough and Westland, for Messrs. Cock and Co., of Nelson. He was a son of the late Captain Houston, and was a prominent member of the Marihor- I ough Chamber of Commerce and Racing Club, and at one time took an active jafa_w_t in all forms of sport,
