— •- ■ "■ CONFERENCE RESOLUTIONS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Public Service Conference was continued to-day. The following remits were adopted:— That payments of superannuation up to £.32 per aiinum be not considered as income under the Pensions Act. That the association approach the Government with a view to granting out of the Consolidated Fund some relief to superannuated public servants who are in receipt of less than £150 a year. % That the Government be asked to bring into operation a scheme whereby married men with families lie granted relief to meet the cost of living. That the Government be requested to repeal sub-section (2) of section 31 of the Public Service Act, 1912. and to substitute the following:—''That the board shall have jurisdiction to make such order as it thinks just, either for the payment of the costs of the appeal by tlie Crown to the appellant or by the appellant to the Crown." That in order to assist in the simplifying of accounting in the Public Service the Government be requested to set up a committee of competent officials selected from the Public Service to preface a handbook on Public Service accounting for the guidance of officers in the service, and to invite suggestions rcmrdin"- improvements in the system I of" accounting from and through such committee. That mental hospital officers 1* I allowed the same retiring privileges as i all other public servants. j That the Public Service Regulations | be reprinted and copies supplied to every I member of the Public Service That the Government provide for the statutory recognition of the association. That the Government be requested to provide by legislation that membership of the Public Service Association be made a necessary qualification for permanent employment in the Public Service.
