AUCKLAND CLUB. FOUR-BALL TIE. The tie In the four-ball best ball match was played oft on Wednesday, and resulted In a win for Colbeck and Ralnger, after a very close match. The winners finished ne less than 7 up, whilst Dargaville and H. Horton were 5 up. The lirst hole was halved in s's, each side having a stroke. Kalnger and Colbeck 'both holed 4'e at the third, making them one up, as the second hole bad been halved by both sides. Ralnger. was on the fourth in two, and, holing his putt for a 3, made his side two up. Their opponents could do no better than keep all square with s's. The flfth was won by both sides with the aid of a stroke handicap. The sixth was halved by both sides In 4's, but at the seventh Horton holed a 3, which gave his side a win, as he had a stroke handicap, making their score now 2 up 'a heir opponents lost the hole to bogey, thus making them 2 up also. The eighth was halved in good 4's. The ninth being won by both sides made them each <t up at the turn. Both Ralnger and Colbeck were on the green at the tenth and halved in .Ts, but their opponents lost, doing no ■better than 4's. Ralnger holed a 4 at the eleventh, and Horton a 5, which save both sides a win. The same players secured 4 s at the twelfth, which, with a stroke handicap, gave them wins, the cards now- reading Kalnger and Colbeck 5 up, and Dargavllle and Horton 4 up. The thirteenth was hn ved Dargaville and Rainger holed out in 4™ at-the next, whilst s's atthe fl^ntt em mm the winners worked out at 7«.
