THE WAITOA RIVER.
RIVER BOARD PROPOSED. TE AROHA, Thursday. A proposal to constitute a river board to control about twenty miles of the Waitoa River was considered at a representative meeting of farmers at Waihou Mr. J. B. Thomas, chairman of the Piako County Council, presided. The meeting generally favoured the proposal, and a committee, comprising one delegate each- from the Piako County Council, Waitoa, Elstow, Hungahunga, and Waihekau (Drainage Boards. Springdalc, Elstow, Waihou, Patuanui, Manawaru, Ngarua, Waitoa, Brookficld, nnd Matamata Farmers' Unions, and the Waharoa special rating area, was appointed to prepare data and report to an early meeting.
