RAILWAYMEN'S PAY.
EGISLATION UNSATISFACTORY PETONE WORKERS' RESOLUTION. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. At a special emergency meeting of the Vellingtou branch of the Amalgamated lociety of Railway Servants hold at •etone Workshops to-day the following notion was carried unanimously: "This nass meeting of the Wellington branch if the A.S.R.S. considers that, the Railvay Bill now before Parliament is totally nadequate in the provision made for ncreases in wages to members of the eeond division; also, that whilst grantng large increases in salaries to mem>ers of the first division the Minister ot _ilways refused the request of the exemtive to grant a further increase of 2/ icr day to members of the second diviiion: further, that this branch supports die executive in any action taken to ibtain recognition of our just demand. IYO are of opinion that this increase to leads of departments is a move to inu'easc superannuation benefits, as most >f them are of the retiring age."'
