RAILWAY GOODS SHEDS.
(To the EcMtor.l Sir, —In your issue of the 15th inst. T notice a letter under the heading of the "Stapnation of Our Railways," which no doubt "is regrettably true. I would also like to draw the attention of tho funeral public to the fact that the "stagnation" is more noticeable every day in the outward poods shed. I do not know how this department of our railways wus conducted 44 years ago, but to-day it sadly I requires reorganisation l>y officials who J realise that the railway exists for the public convenience. At the present time a consignor of poods is nt a great disadvantapo. It now takes exactly the I same time to deliver 10 (ten) tons of poods a* it did to deliver 20 (twenty) : tons of tho same goods two years aj*o. 'It is usual now to see twenty-five carts J waiting their turn to bo unloaded. This ! necessitated in one instance for one. mdiii vidual a wait from 1.30 p.m. to 3 p.m. If this is not 'stagnation," then I don't '■ know what is. —I am, etc.. A CARTER.
