PROVISION FOR SOLDIERS' VOTES. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") WELLINGTONS Monday. Mr Massev moved the Expeditionary Forces Voting Mill, simplifying the .system under which recently returned soldiers may vote in the coming elections. Replying to questions, the Premier said that practically all .soldiers would be returned by the date of the election. lie did not favour the system of voting for parties therefore any system of soldiers' voting on transports would be impracticable unless the names of candidate* were available to the voters- He was not in favour of allowing 'Wives of soldier-; to vote without a qualifying period of one year* residence, as they hncl no knowledge of Xew Zealand conditions. The bill was read a second time, put through committee, and passed.
