COMEDY AT CORK.

DISCORD IN MUSIC SCHOOL. SINN FEIN-GERMAN ALLIANCE. LONDON, September 4. The correspondent of the '"London ■ Star" at Cork states that an amusing quarrel is proceeding in that town, arising out of the appointment of Karl i Hardebeek, a blind German, as headmaster of the Municipal School of Music. The appointment was due to Sinn Fein influence. The other teachers indignantly objected when Hardebeek was installed, and the whole staff, including several Englishmen, struck for a 50 per cent increase in salaries. Hardebeek retaliated by announcing that they must all learn Irish, and for the future teach in that language. The Sinn Fein backed Hardebeek, on the understanding that only Irish music would be taught. It has now been ascertained that Hardobeck's new syllabus of composers consists of 19 Germans and Austrians and only two Irish.
