ELLERSLIE TOWN BOARD.
The Ellerslle Town Board met on Tuesday evening. Present: Messrs. S. Somerfleld (chairman), A. Ferguson, J. A. Godfrey, A. Hewson, D. A. Moore, G. Thorpe, and J. Wooller. Conference. —The chairman reported that ho had attended the conference of local bodies with the Mount Eden Borough Council, in company .with other members of the Board, and had received much useful In-1 formation in regard to the probability of suburban local bodies being supplied with power for electricity from the Hora Horn supply. Mr Wooller gave details in respect to cost of production by water or by steam power which were greatly In favour ot water power. He also reported that it was considered there would be ample power to supply to suburban local bodies it two additional generators were put in. It had been) suggested that each local body should report as to the horse power required for its district. , j After some discussion, it was resolved to' defer the matter for further particulars. j Stray Cattle.—Strong complaints were made to the Board in respect to cattle being ' allowed to wander on the road doing considerable damage to footpaths and hedges, besides being dangerous to pedestrians. As the notice sent to the ranger had not taken effect it was resolved that letters be sent to the offenders, notifying them that the practice must cease, or the Board would take action.
