Tine tie In the open championship between S. Morpeth (Waihl) and E. iS. Doirglas (professional) was played off over 18 holes, aim resulted in a win for. the present holder of the championship, E. iS. Douglas. The scores for the round were: E. iS. 'Douglas 82: »S. Morpetih 85.

In the afternoon the handicap bogey match was played, but as the majority of the p-fciycrs preferred to watch the play-off In the open championship, very few cards were handed in. The competition was won ■by Kinpl Tareh-a, who finished 1 up on bogey from scratch, a very fine performance.
