Dr. R. H. Mafcgill, acting Chief Health Officer, returns to Wellington to-day.
Mr. A. 'Burt, junior, of A. and T. Burt, Ltd., leaves by the Niagara en route for Great Britain.
Mr. M. Sheldon, Australian Commissioner to the United States, is a through passenger by the Niagara.
Captain C. H. (Booth has been awarded the -Military Order of the British Empire (M.8.E.)
Mr. D. J. Fitzgerald, formerly house 6urgeon Wellington Hospital, takes a trip in the Ruapehu as ship's surgeon.
Mr. Kidman, known as the Australian Cattle King, is a through passenger by tho Niagara, which berthed at the wharf this morning.
Mr. C. C. Buckland, formerly of Mon ovale, Cambridge, leaves by the M-akura for Vancouver with his wife and family.
The Rev. Percival E. James, M.A., vicar-designate of St. Mary's Cathedral, Parnell, is expected to leave England at the end of this month.
Dunedin Presbytery has nominated the Rev. D. Fulton, of Caversham, as moderator oi the General Assembly, 1920.— (Press Association.)
Mr. R. A. Keenan, one of the promoters of the Napier Orphans Club, was the recipient of a presentation from that body, upon his removal from the district.
Mr. Frank A. Brown, A.M.E.I. Can., who for 10 years has been manager for Turnbull, Jones,/ Ltd., has resigned that position in order to follow his profession as consulting engineer.
Dr. H. Westby Amyes, of Christchurch, who has been abroad seven years studying surgery, is expected to return to New Zealand shortly, and will then go to Edinburgh to complete his studies.
Mr. S. W. B. McGregor, H.M. Trade Commissioner in the Commonwealth of Australia, arrived by the Niagara. He is supervising the work for this Dominion during the absence of Mr. Dalton.
Tlie death occurred at Port Chalmers to-day of Mr. T. G. Gordock, foreman engineer to the Union Shipping Company's repair works. He came to Port Chalmers from Auckland in 1914.—Press Association.
Commodore John C. T. Glossop, C.8., of the Royal Navy, arrived by the Niagara, with his wife, to spend* a few weeks' vacation in New Zealand. Commodore Glossop was in command of H.M. A.S. Sydney when 6he captured the German raider Emden. He is now in command of H.M. A. naval establishment at Sydney.
