DAIRY AMALGAMATION

SUPREME COURT ACTION, SETTLEMENT ARRIVED AT. An action applying for an injunction to restrain the directors of the New Zealand Dairy Association, Ltd., from gelling its assets to a new company, viz.. the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Co.. Ltd., brounght by a few of the former company's shareholders, was adjourned sine die at the recent sittings of the Supreme Court. The negotiations for settlement were commenced in Auckland, Messrs. C. P. Skerrett and M. Myers acting for the plaintiffs and Sir John Findlay and Mr. Geo. Kent for the Dairy Association. Telegraphic advice has been received that the matters in difference have been satisfactorily settled. The proceedings for the amalgamation of the two companies have been delayed owing to the legal procedure, but can now be resumed without further delay. Meanwhile the cartage services, etc., of the participating companies have been adjusted so as to reduce costs and overlapping of such services.
