Oakley Creek Culvert.—A deputation from the Av..ndale Road Board whs received, headed by the chairman (Mr. Kesblt), with reference to the Oakley Creek culvert. This culvert. It was stated, was -exceptionally narrow and. owinp; t<» the peculiar angle of the mad. it was a danger to vehicles. It was reported that the culvert under the roadway m present was only of sufficient length to allow a roadway t-ft-pnty-one feet wide, wirh a footpath two feet wide. The present culvert was fifteen feet high by six feet wide. By extending the culvert a distance of sixteen feet to tho road line on the northern or outlet end. the roadway could be widened to thirty-two feet, and a toot pa til nine feet wide provided for. As Mlie size of the present culvert was out of all proportion for the requirements, thei proposal was to make the extension six feet | by six feet, winch size wouli be ample to carry off all water naming down the creek.
