A MAORI ARRESTKD. (B.v relpsrapb.-own Correspondent.) WIIANIiARKI, this day. About half |iast ten on Saturday night last. U'hangarei police discovered a Maori lying uuc-on.-./ious in a right of. nay in ".lames Street. \\ hnngarei. The man's pockets were turned inside out, and his boots were missing, while he had a large lump on the back of his head. The police removed him to the station, where, on recovery, he stated that Ilia name was Wiriniu Panahoe. He remembered going into the right of way and being hit a violent blow on the" back of the head, but knew no more. As tin; result of inquiries! made, Constables Power and (lark went to Onerahi last night, where they arrested a Maori in connection with Lhe occurrence. This morning, in lhe Whangarei Magistrate's Court, Dan Nathan [a Maori) was formerly charged with assault and robbery on one Wiriniu Panahoe, and was remanded in custody till September , !*'• ' I
