KOLCHAK'S RETREAT OVER.
CONCENTRATION AT TOBOLSK. WEST RUSSIAN ARMY. 'FRATERNITIES OF TEE CROSS"' (By Cable.—Press Association.— Copj-rlght.l i Received 1.43 p.m.) LONDON. August 25. Admiral Kolchak's position no longer warrants anxiety. The "Reds"' have retired some distance from Tobolfk. eastward of the Crals. where Kolchak has now concentrated. General Dieterich. commander of the Western Russian army, is strenuously recruiting, aim-.ng r>. place his army, mainly of volunteers, on a basis like' General Denikin's. An interesting innovation is the formation of semi-religious "fraternities o f the cross," pledged to take up arms and set an example of discipline and blameless living. The priests arc feverishly promoting the movement. like the mediaeval cnisaders.— ("Times")
