STRANGE SHOOTING AFFAIR.
W A 111 I BOY INJURED. | (Hj Telegraph.— Own Corresnoadent.) | WAIHI, this day. An accident surrounded by some! mystery occurred yesterday, resulting in! a boy named Worthington -be.ing shot in the back of the head. It appears that (leorge Worthington, who resides in 1 ; Russell Street, and his son aged 12. were removing some furniture at the father's residence, when shots were fired from an unknown quarter. Tho boy stooped down 10 examine a tin. and when he was rising another shot wis tired, the bullet striking him on the lower part of the! head. Dr. lirown attended the lad. who was removed to the hospital. The pellet has not yet been removed, but it is! understood that the boy', cojidttioli is not daaitrerotw. It is supposed that the accident was due lo rille practice hein.oindulged in by some person unknown.
