PRESIDENT TAKES OATH. BERLIN, August 24. There was much ceremony when Horr Ebert took the Presidential oath in the German National Assembly at Weimar. Great crowds witnessed the ceremony. Herr Ein-rt. in a speech, emphasised the need for labour in the Empire's service in order to rebuild the Fatherland, whose new vital principle would be "Freedom and the right." The Assembly formed a new Foreign Ko-lations Committee. ..f which Herr S. hcide-iKuin is president, and Herr Spahn. a." prominent member of the Centre party, is vice-president.—(A. and "K.Z.
