PRIMARY SCHOOLS.
' j (To the Editor.) ! Sir. —While we are all talking- of our , I children's education, I should like to see each school have a swimming bath and | every child be taught to swim. It should ho one of their daily lessons. It would .be a health giving and pleasurable exorI rise, and would be the means of building j line mon and women. Military drill should be taturht at school to boys from the very j beginning as their A.B.C. There would jbe no need of military camp except in , war time, and each boy- would bo a soldier when he leaves school, and with, l say, two local drills a week, would keep lit. It is not fair to the boys or their mothers, especially those left without | husbands, to think of takinsr their boys away to camp for three or four months, 'as ha* beer, proposed. A qualified-prac-Ititioner should bo kept to visit the ; schools at least once a week. The teeth, also, should be attended to. T hope that the next school built in Auckland will be a model school, with swimming bath land ample recreation trrounds.—l am. etc - ONE OF MANY. i
